Before becoming a UI/UX designer, I worked as a kitchen and bath designer. I earned a degree in Residential Environments and Design from Virginia Tech, where the focus was on creating functional and inclusive kitchen and bathroom designs. This program emphasized a strong design sensibility and taught me how to develop solutions that work for everyone. It also helped me build skills in comprehensive research, customer collaboration, color theory, spatial awareness, and bringing ideas to life.

I applied these abilities for eight years in the kitchen and bath industry, working with a wide range of clients to identify challenges, create thoughtful solutions, design them, and bring them to life. This experience strengthened my collaborative skills and deepened my passion for designing with real impact.

One of my favorite aspects of crafting solutions is uncovering the “who” and the “why.” I enjoy building user personas to understand the target audience and using that insight to guide the design process. I also love developing the story behind a brand or theme—how it connects with users and supports their goals. I bring these elements together to create designs that feel classic yet unique—functional, but with a special touch.

What I bring to the table is the result of years of design experience and customer-focused service. I’ve developed a skill set that blends physical and digital design seamlessly, and I’m able to communicate my design thinking clearly across all areas of the process.
